The disruptors, the movers and shakers, the doers, the game changers – this collection of words is now synonymous with the lives of seemingly everyday Australians and instead of being ‘buzz words’ are now a part of normal conversation.
We are living in a time where there are magazines dedicated specifically to the growth of entrepreneurs, an unlimited number of inspiring digital resources and even startup businesses for startup businesses. Every start up has a story, and this is mine...
After being dissuaded not to pursue my passion in Photography when finishing high school, I had a light bulb moment (after a night out with my bestie) and decided to launch my own Photography business.
Historically, not being one to truly commit and follow through on seemingly outlandish ideas borne from deep, idyllic conversations with girlfriends - this time it felt different - like I hadn't ever been surer of anything in my life. It just felt right.
I didn't know too much about how to start a business but with the inter-web at my finger tips I was determined to figure it out.
As I sat at my 9-5 job, I would count down the minutes until I could get home and work on my new venture, until one average Wednesday an unexpected parcel arrived on my desk from my bestie. I opened to find a book with the title Daring & Disruptive, I was instantly enticed. As cliché as it sounds the words of Lisa Messenger were an absolute page turner and within weeks I was subsequently hooked on The Collective Magazine. Not long after, I discovered an eye catching magazine on the floor of my favourite local clothing store, Startup Creative. I was inspired yet again, Kaylene Langford just got it. The connection was instant.
After reading the stories, experiences and tips of Lisa, Kaylene and their Contributors it felt as though someone had opened up my mind and completely changed the way I thought. Everything was shaken up, and I loved the feeling.

It’s amazing how this new mindset has really changed my life - as ridiculously dramatic as that sounds. I am oh so thankful for the people like Lisa and Kaylene, that have encouraged me to persist. I really don't know where I would be without the insights from The Collective and Startup Creative contributors.
THE BOOK / Daring and Disruptive
THE MAGS / Collective Hub + Start Up Creative

It’s always fun to stumble across posts that challenge what you think you know about a franchise. I ended up going down a rabbit hole through Bizarre Lineage Wiki after reading this, and it really added some unexpected context to the lore.
Really appreciated the insight about how the game handles exploration compared to other open-world titles—it makes me want to dive into the world more. I’ve been checking out the Neverness to Everness Wiki for a breakdown of the different factions and their questlines, which has been super helpful for planning my playthrough.
This is a really helpful breakdown of the topic—thanks for sharing your perspective. I’ve been digging into similar ideas lately and found some great additional context over at ScopeQuill. Your point about balancing structure with flexibility really resonated with me.
I really liked how you broke down the complexities of subtitle formatting—it’s one of those things that seems simple until you actually dive in. For anyone looking to streamline their workflow, I’d definitely check out SubtitleOps to save time on the technical side. Thanks for sharing these practical tips.
"BEHIND THE LENS / MY START UP STORY" was a great read, and the structure made the key ideas easy to follow. A detail that stayed with me: BEHIND THE LENS / MY START UP STORY Mandy — MNDY Photography. It also connects nicely with Measure frame rate and rendering smoothness directly in browser.. I will revisit this post again. online fps test
